Since PocketPCTechs announced the new h2200 series replacement grips many users have been asking the same question: Can these grips be used with an InnoPocket Aluminum Case?
To answer this question PocketPCTechs sent me a replacement kit.
The installation process is very simple if you follow the instructions provided by PocketTech.
The first thing to do is to remove the old grips. To do that hold the unit between both hands and apply pressure to the middle and bottom of rubber grip and push it towards the top of the unit.
Once the grips has moved about 1/8" pull the grip up and remove it from it's original place.
Having both grips removed you will see two screws (one in each side) near to the top, using the Torx T-06 tool provided by PocketPCTechs remove both screws.
The new anodized aluminum grips are left & right keyed based on the screws hole and cover extensions, so it's impossible to install the right one in the left size of your h2200. The installation is simple, insert the bottom tip of the replacement grip in to the unit and them seat it slowly until the screw hole is properly aligned.
Right side grip.
Two longer screws are provided in the kit (really there are 3 screws counting an extra one just in case you lose one) to replace the original screws. Using the Torx tool insert them. Be sure that you do not over tight.

Even without having finished the installation I already knew the answer to my question of could I use these grips with my InnoPocket Case?
Inserting the h2200 in the case.
h2215 with the Anodized Aluminum Grips installed and using the InnoPocket Aluminum Case.
The answer is YES. Both accessories can be used together without any problem.
Conclusion: The Anodized Aluminum Grips from PocketPCTech are very well made and in my opinion is a solution that will last for ever in your h2215. I got a second pare of rubber grips from HP and they were falling already from my h2215, this second pare was free because the unit was under warranty but my question is how long HP will send me free grips? Is there anything I don't like from this solution, yes, the price. I still think that 40 dollars is more than what any one would like to pay for this kind of solution even if it's the perfect solution, and it's the perfect solution, I don't have any doubt about it. Would I recommend the Anodized Aluminum Grips to h2215 owners? Yes, if you have the money and you want to put an end of this situation of your rubber grips falling from your Pocket PC this is the best way to go.
Finally I would like to Thanks Leonard from PocketPCTech for sending me the grips used in this review.
